The function:

We are seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development with expertise in the Python programming language. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and systems that meet customer needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain software applications and systems using Python programming language
  • Writing clean, efficient, and reusable code that meets software development best practices and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to ensure that software solutions meet customer needs.
  • Testing software to ensure it meets quality standards and troubleshooting and debugging as needed
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends and best practices in software development
  • Contribute to the documentation of software design, architecture, and implementation details
  • work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines

What to bring:

  • Preferably a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering or another relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience in the Python programming language
  • Familiarity with modern front-end and back-end build pipelines and tools
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL/MSSQL
  • Experience building APIs and knowledge of REST API best practices
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment techniques
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience in deploying (data science and/or operations research) models into production and supporting data scientists in industrializing their code
  • An affinity with Operations Research and/or Machine Learning concepts is a plus
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Scrum
  • Dutch language is not required
  • Living or willing to move to the Netherlands
